Date Night

Question:

How do you spice up a relationship after being together 10 years or longer?

Answer:

If by spicing up a relationship you mean revitalizing the romance and passion, I have a special secret for you; it’s called “Date Night”.  The key to maintaining a relationship of romance and passion is spending QUALITY time together on a regular basis, quality time meaning time spent together when it’s just the two of you; no kids, no family, no friends, no one else but the two of you.  Start by picking a night of the week when the two of you don’t have to work, then, let it be known to the world at large that the two of you have declared that night as Date Night.  Let everyone know that on Date Night the two of you will be unavailable, because you will be on a date together.  Then, find someone to watch the kids for the evening, and GO ON A DATE.  Turn your cell phones OFF (the world won’t end if you’re out of touch for a few hours), forget about your jobs, forget about your bills, forget about EVERYTHING except each other. Do NOT talk about your problems.  Just spend that few hours together each week bathing in the beauty of each other.  Your special date does NOT have to be expensive or elaborate; in fact, some of your best dates will be those when the two of you just walk hand in hand through the park in the moonlight.  Sometimes you will talk, and talk, and talk, and other times you won’t say a word, but you will be TOGETHER, just you and he, and it will be special.
